Howdy! I’m here with a quick update concerning my recent surgery. As some of you might be aware, I had been on dialysis for the last few years, but I received a kidney transplant last week. It’s been a little over a week since I had received my new kidney and so far, it’s working the way it should be. Hopefully, no complications pop up in the near future.
Couple of things: While the surgery is over and out with, there’s still a recovery process involved. While I feel a lot better than previously, I’m still not 100% as I can get out of breath in a very short time and I still feel pain around the incision area. Hopefully, those will get better as time goes on. The first 6-8 weeks after a transplant are the toughest to get through. Once I hit that hurdle, the rest of the time should be easier.
I want to give a huge thank you to MUSC, the hospital who did the transplant surgery. The doctors, nurses and staff were great. They took great care of me and helped me through the entire process (especially post-transplant plans). I will be following up with them doing weekly testing and clinic visits at their place for the next few weeks. So again, great people, great hospital and I really enjoyed them helping me through what would’ve been a worrisome process.
I also want to thank the 3DX Discord community for their support. You guys have been awesome and I really can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. Specifically, I wanna thank AndiGuinness for keeping in contact with me during my weeklong stay in SC and for setting up the wish list. He told me that after the link was posted, everything was claimed in a few hours. I did receive a few things already from SquarePeg, BigDaddy, and Leticia Latex so far, so thank you. I updated the current list, so if you wanna send something, you can check out the link right here. I can’t drive (which I love doing) for another month, so any little thing helps while I’m stuck in the house.
Again, thank you so much for your support in this journey! You guys are truly some of the best people out there and I definitely feel the love. I’ll have a normal update sometime during next week, so be sure to check it out. Thanks!
